TripAdvisor: Product Update, Safety 

My team at and I worked on a campaign for TripAdvisor, the world’s largest travel platform, to make Safety updates to its product. In just three months, we worked with TripAdvisor to make product updates and enhanced features that focus on the experience of survivors of assault and on the safety of all future travelers.

Thanks to the 694,000+ people who signed and shared the petition, the partnership of NO MORE, and campaign lead "K"'s leadership and perseverance, we achieved a victory that will lead to safer experiences both while traveling and while on the platform.

Here are the changes that the company has made since we launched this petition in March:

  • Developed a safety filter that will allow travelers to more easily see reviews that include significant health and safety concerns, including sexual assault

  • Developed an FAQ that provides tips on creating an anonymous profile, translated into 28 languages

  • Committed to guiding survivors who reach out by phone or email through the process of creating an anonymous profile

  • Committed to having content leadership and the customer support team participate in a sexual assault survivor awareness training with the formidable organization NO MORE
